Mindfulness - What is it?

Mindfulness is a way of being. Through guided meditation you can develop mindfulness to help improve your life. Simple to understand and practice. It is a life skill that is accessible to everyone.

It is about coming back to our senses and being in touch with ourselves, others, and our surroundings in the present moment. Becoming aware of our body, thoughts, emotions, and our whole experience. Research has shown that mindfulness helps us reduce anxiety and depression.

Ways to take up Mindfulness practice
Mindfulness can be practiced alone any time anywhere or as part of a group. As an accredited mindfulness teacher I am committed to helping because I see real changes in the people who have engaged in the practices.
You can learn basic mindfulness practice through taster sessions with me or you can take part in the 8 week MBSR course.

Here are some of the other known benefits mindfulness training can bring:
  • Reduces that constant chatter of our busy minds
  • Improved attention and focus on tasks
  • Increased self-awareness and awareness of others
  • Better ability to deal with stress
  • Better ability to manage moods and emotions
  • Greater sense of purpose
  • Increased ability to relax
  • Increased energy
  • Higher self-confidence
When you’re more mindful you’re more aware – of yourself, of others and of the whole world around you. This is about allowing yourself the luxury to simply be present, right here in this moment, giving it your full attention.
When you become mindful you open yourself up to new ideas, new ways of seeing, thinking and feeling. It can help you discover a deeper sense of purpose.
